MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — An Islamorada man was arrested after he stole over a thousand dollars worth of electric toothbrushes from a pharmacy.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Marathon Walgreens after a man was caught walking into the store, grabbing $1,375 worth of electric toothbrushes, and exited the store without paying.
The employees watched the man get into his white Lexus and drive away.
Deputies spotted the vehicle, but waited for nearly 20 miles before approaching the driver, Tracy Jay Mofield, 37, stopped and pulled over.
Mofield admitted to stealing the items and told deputies that he threw the stolen goods off the Long Key Bridge.
